Looking forward to Inauguration? You’d better do more than look. The future is coming and you’d better be ready for it. It waits for nobody. There are many things to look forward to in the future, if you work for them.
For instance, you can look forward to Americans having insured healthcare that was negotiated over years to protect Americans from corporations bending the rules and maximizing profits.
You can look forward to a government that faces the enormous amounts of student debt and works to address the failures of the current system.
You can look forward to decency and respect of all people no matter who they are, or what religion they practice, or who they love.
You can look forward to drug prices being negotiated so that Americans don’t go broke under the weight of medical debt.
You can look forward to infrastructure projects creating jobs and elevating all Americans.
You can look forward to a government that investigates corporate crime and industry consolidation and monopolies to make sure that the playing field is level.
You can look forward to transparency and a fight to help people vote not to stop them from voting.
The list goes on.
But all this goes away if we let it.
If we let the current House of Representatives be controlled by people who pass a child tax credit bill ONLY because it gives yet more tax breaks to businesses and corporations. How are the last fifty years of “tax breaks” doing for you and America?
If we let the Senate be controlled by two “DINO”s who, to protect their own seat failed to pass critical bills like voting protection.
If we let the leader of a massive cult of tax-break authoritarian anti-democratic wrong on the economy dis-informed Americans win the presidency in 169 days.
President Joe Biden and the Democrats have turned the nation from the brink of disaster. We stopped an insurrection. We’ve started talking plainly about the stranglehold that corporations have over politics. We’ve got a leader who speaks to the soul of all Americans.
UNLESS YOU TAKE ACTION every day to make sure that no MAGA gets the last word, you could have done more. The duty is clear. Facts, science, and the teamwork of a healthy, safe, and productive people are the ingredients to life, liberty, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
So, when half the nation wants to explain why hurting people is the right thing, like cutting child tax credits, or not supplying free lunches to malnourished kids, deny the premise. They don’t know what they’re talking about. The only hope of educating them is to take the House and the Senate and the Presidency by a huge margin.
Not by .1% but by 10% or 20% because these voters trying to take away the future you’re looking forward to just don’t get it. They are failing us and they need to be schooled. And it’s your job to do it.
Unless you take action every day and fight for more Democrats in the Senate and winning the House, and inaugurating Joe Biden for a second term, who really knows what will happen 245 days from now? Never forget what happened on January 6th. These people need to be educated. Do it.
