You pay more for your doctor visit. Your premium went up. The bill on the counter keeps growing. Then GOP lawmakers cut health care funds and called it “reform.” A cut to Medicaid is a cut to families who already stretch paychecks to cover groceries and gas. It means less help when a kid spikes a fever, or when a parent’s meds run out. It hits your budget. Hard.
While you pay more, they play politics with a word: fraud. Hearings. Sound bites. Ads.
NPR reports Republicans are now running health care ads in swing districts after they voted to cut funding in last year’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” law. That law tightened rules and reduced support for state programs, and budget analysts project about 10 million fewer people with insurance by 2034, with roughly 3 million fewer on the exchanges already in early 2026. Many ads pound “Medicaid fraud.” One even claimed undocumented immigrants were cut off — false. At Minnesota’s Farmfest forum, Republican candidates backed Medicaid cuts. This isn’t reform. It’s a cut.
You don’t have to be a Democrat to see the scam. If someone cuts your coverage, you fire them. In 2026, vote them out.
