Republicans passed a health law tightening rules and trimming funds. NPR reports Congress’s budget office expects about 10 million fewer people insured by 2034, and federal data show roughly 3 million fewer on the exchanges this year. A Georgetown health expert testified the law amounts to the largest Medicaid reductions ever and warned roughly 11 million could lose coverage. Democratic leaders put the total over 15 million when other changes are included. Many Republicans now run ads about “fraud” and “saving rural hospitals” after voting for cuts that shift costs to families and local clinics. At Minnesota’s Farmfest forum, GOP hopefuls backed Trump-style tariffs and talked up Medicaid cuts, according to Valley News Live.
