$100 Oil. $4 Gas. No Relief Before Election Day.

Brent crude jumped past $100 a barrel this week. Gas already averages more than $4 a gallon nationwide, and analysts say drivers should not expect relief before Election Day.

Here is what that means for your wallet. Every fill-up costs more. Deliveries cost more, so groceries like beef stay expensive. As $100 flashed on screens, Republicans were in Dallas with President Donald Trump to boost their midterm chances. They would rather not talk about Trump or gas prices. His mass deportations and tariffs have not delivered jobs, faster growth, or lower prices. High gas prices are likely to be a problem for Republican candidates through Election Day. Families feel it every week. There is no clear end in sight from the conflicts pushing energy costs up. This hits your commute, your kid’s practice run, your weekend errands.

They are not fixing your costs.

If you have leaned right before, you do not have to change who you are to say enough. You can vote to check this crowd until they show a plan that brings down what you pay at the pump and at the store. What would make you rethink sitting this one out? Four-dollar gas should be on that list.

Your vote decides who has to answer for these prices.

  • Ask your local candidates how they will cut your gas bill without gimmicks. Get a real answer.
  • Share this with one person who plans to sit out. Ask if $4 gas is acceptable.
  • Remember the pump price when you fill out your 2026 ballot.
  • Check your voter registration at Vote.gov
