Supreme Court blocks Trump-backed Missouri map again. Your district stays the same this year.

Your ballot will use the old Missouri map.

The U.S. Supreme Court just blocked the Trump-backed redraw for the third time.

Here is what that means for you. The justices said changing lines this late would cause “electoral chaos,” and they noted that ballots using the 2022 map are already printed and mailed, with absentee and military voting underway. Republicans in Jefferson City passed a new map in 2025, cheered on by Trump, that aimed to help them grab a seventh seat. The Court said no again. As we reported on Sept. 27, this was a plan to lock in more power.

They tried to pick your member of Congress before you could.

This fight decides whether your community chooses its voice, not party labels. The new lines would have reshaped Kansas City’s 5th District and tilted the odds even more. Missouri’s own Supreme Court already ruled the 2025 map cannot take effect unless voters approve a referendum. A citizen group gathered signatures. State officials fought them. Courts said the petition was legal and on time. At least 16 lawsuits are pending because one side keeps trying to push through a map that benefits them, not you.

Trump blasted the Court after Friday’s ruling. Republicans already hold six of eight seats. They drew lines to try for seven. The nation’s highest court blocked that plan three times in one month and kept the 2022 map in place for this election.

You can be a lifelong Republican and still reject rigged maps. Fair districts belong to everyone. They are the bare minimum for real choice.

Hold the line. In 2026, take power from the people who keep trying to take it from you.

For this election, your district stays put. What happens next is up to voters.

  • Ask your local election office which map your ballot uses, then share that answer with three neighbors.
  • Read any redistricting referendum language yourself so you know exactly what a yes or no vote would do.
  • Vote in 2026 to replace the officials who engineered this mess.
  • Check your voter registration at Vote.gov
