The Court Stopped Missouri’s GOP Map. Your Wallet Has a Stake.
Missouri will use the same districts as 2022 and 2024 because courts blocked a last-minute, Trump-backed map. The U.S. Supreme Court refused for the third time to bring it back and said changing lines after ballots went out would cause “electoral chaos.”
Chaos costs you.
As we reported on Sept. 27, lawmakers tried to push new lines after the August primary to flip a seventh seat. The scramble shifted more than a million Missourians into different districts with different candidates. Some local officials told people to wait before voting because of the mess. Every hour you spend sorting that out is an hour you are not earning, caring for family, or getting through your day. Mail ballots face a risk too. USPS changes mean ballots mailed close to Election Day can get a late postmark and be rejected, with tens of thousands at risk nationwide. USPS says to mail at least a week early, or ask for a manual postmark if your state allows a grace period.
You don’t have to switch parties to see this. If you are tired of leaders changing the rules after voting starts, use your vote to push them out and put your household first.
- If you vote by mail, return your ballot at least a week early or ask the post office for a same-day manual postmark.
- Share this with anyone moved into a new district who may be unsure which ballot applies to them.
- Vote in 2026 to replace the officials who created this chaos.
- Check your voter registration at Vote.gov.
Countdown
