Trump Pushes Court Limits
The Constitution runs on limits.
Break them, and even your child’s citizenship can be on the line.
This week, Donald Trump pushed those limits again.
An appeals court said he overstepped by tearing into the White House’s East Wing for a new ballroom and halted the work until Congress approves.
He says he’ll take it to the Supreme Court.
That ballroom is a top personal priority this term. Not the country’s.
He also moved to undo two defeats the Supreme Court handed him in June.
The Court struck down his order to end birthright citizenship.
It blocked his attempt to fire Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook.
He is trying again on both fronts, while also seeking the justices’ help with his ballroom.
Not how this works.
Courts are the brakes, not a personal toolbox.
This is court capture.
Use the justices when they help.
Defy them when they don’t.
Turn checks and balances into a loyalty test.
When leaders treat rulings as hurdles to game, not rules to follow, the guardrails fail.
And when guardrails fail, your rights, your vote, and your family’s status rest on one man’s mood.
You do not have to be a Democrat to see the danger.
