They went after mail voters. The Court stopped it.

The Supreme Court said Trump can’t enforce his new mail-in ballot regulation. That rule would hurt people who rely on mailed ballots.

His team still raced to court to keep limits on how USPS handles mailed ballots. They filed emergency appeals to make mail voting harder. They knew exactly who that would hit first.

Seniors who can’t stand in long lines. People working double shifts who can’t get off. Voters with disabilities who plan ahead so their ballot arrives on time. Block their path and you block their vote.

We reported on Oct. 6 that Trump’s shifting mail-ballot rules left election officials and voters scrambling. Confusion was not an accident when the goal was fewer mailed votes counted.

Trump officials moved to limit mail voting.

They did not make voting simple or clear. They fought to tighten rules in the final stretch. They did it to protect their grip on power.

You do not have to change your politics to see this was wrong. You can favor smaller government and still reject a plan that sidelines lawful mail voters.

Courts can block the worst of it, as they did. But policy is set by who holds office. If you want ballots from your parents, your neighbor with a bad knee, or your own mailed vote to count, take note of who tried to shut that down and choose better in 2026.

Protect the vote. Protect each other.

  • Send this to one person you know who votes by mail
  • Ask your local election office how they will make mailed ballots clear and countable
  • Plan your 2026 vote and bring a neighbor who relies on mail voting
  • Check your voter registration at Vote.gov

Countdown
