A new report has been released called The Authoritarian Playbook which documents the clear and present danger that a second Trump presidency would pose to America:
This report aims to alter these dynamics by clearly showing how Trump would follow through on his most extreme anti-democratic pledges for a second term and then offering expert recommendations for how to mitigate that danger.

The Supreme Court of the United States has predictably “covered their butts”, by distending the case against Donald Trump, leaving the American Public in limbo on an issue that is so plainly clear.
In so many words, the question the Supreme Court is taking up is:
“What kind of world are we living in … if a president orders his SEAL team to murder a political rival and then resigns or is not impeached — that is not a crime? I think that is an extraordinarily frightening future that should weigh heavily on the court’s decision,” Pearce said.

Perhaps they want to more specifically slice and dice apart what exact crimes the POTUS can or cannot commit so that they are not “distracted” by the risk of leaving office? Who knows?
Echos of Saddam Hussein on his “loyalty day” is not unthinkable if a President were to be declared immune from all prosecution of crimes.
When a question like this is posed to a SCOTUS who is then willing to let it lapse until an election has potentially allowed an insurrectionist to win, is unacceptable.
The SCOTUS has put the responsibility on the voters to make sure this chain of events NEVER occurs. Trump will fire those who are prosecuting him. He may then seek legal retribution. And worse, he’ll continue down the path toward a dictatorship while serving as a tool of a right wing movement that has been chipping away at America’s Democracy for generations.
Decades of Americans, have been asleep at the wheel, allowing increments of our system of checks and balances to be chopped off at the hands of Fox “News”, The Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society, the religious right and more, with their clear agendas.
Specifically, in Donald Trump and his supporters now pose an existential threat to it. This is the pinnacle of a lot of work.
College students have mentioned that they’re tired of this being just the next “boogeyman”. But this is far from the truth. The descent into what we have become has brought us here. And all the faith in the strength of American Democracy won’t protect it forever.
This boogeyman is worse. And everybody needs to understand this. This could be the last gasp.
