Tariffs Are Taxes. You Pay Them.

The Trump administration just slapped new double-digit tariffs on imports from dozens of countries. That is a tax on the stuff you buy, from parts to finished goods. It hits at the register, and it hits small shops that keep your town running.
New import taxes of 10% or 12.5% on goods from more than 60 economies took effect last week. Small businesses are already back in court trying to stop them. A watch retailer, Collective Horology, says earlier Trump tariffs cost them over $160,000 — with refunds still stuck — and warns this round will “hamstring” them again. They import from Switzerland, where there’s no U.S. alternative. A toymaker, Learning Resources, and a flooring maker joined the new suits too. Their claim: Trump officials picked the tariff rates first, then stretched the law to fit after. The White House says it’s about blocking goods made with forced labor. But courts have already tossed one earlier Trump tariff plan, and another is still tied up on appeal. That legal chaos does not spare your wallet. It just adds fees, delays, and fewer choices — and the bill rolls downhill to you.
This is a tax on you.
Ask yourself: when your kid’s toy, your watch repair, or your home project costs more, who benefits? Not your family. Not your local shop. This was a choice. And it lands on your receipt.
You do not have to be a Democrat. Fire the people who raised your costs. Vote like constitutional repair depends on it.
