Max Miller’s ethics mess is an alarm, not a feud

A sitting member of Congress is under a formal ethics investigation for alleged domestic abuse and possible illegal drug use. Then he posted images of his two-year-old online to fight the story. That is an institutional alarm, not gossip.

Rep. Max Miller says he asked for the House Ethics Committee to review him to clear his name. The committee is investigating claims he “may have engaged in domestic violence and abuse or illegal drug use.” His ex-wife has filed court papers alleging assaults, with photos. Over the weekend, his team posted a public Dropbox tied to his X video; her lawyers say it exposed their daughter’s name and “private images” and violated their parenting plan. His lawyer called the post a mistake and apologized, while Miller denies the abuse and vows to stay in the race. Power without standards is a threat. Voters are not jurors, but we are the only ones who can say this fails the basic test for public trust.

You do not have to be a Democrat to draw a line. If party leaders won’t, voters must in 2026. Retire Republicans who excuse this and replace them with adults who put duty over drama.

  • Send this to one moderate voter who still thinks this is normal politics.
  • Ask your House member if they will call for Miller to step aside while under ethics investigation.
  • Share this with someone center-right who is tired of chaos.
  • Check your voter registration at Vote.gov
