Congressional Republicans cut healthcare funds in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, tightening insurance rules and shrinking state support, NPR reports. Budget analysts project about 10 million fewer people with insurance by 2034, and roughly 3 million fewer already off the exchanges since the law passed.
When coverage drops, the bill lands on your kitchen table.
Now the same politicians flood swing districts with ads about “affordability” and “fraud.” NPR found that pattern across toss-up races this year. This was a choice. They’re trying to pre-spin the backlash to their own cuts. In some places, they push false claims about immigrants and benefits to distract, while the real result of their law is less coverage and higher out-of-pocket risk. Meanwhile, gasoline averages about $4.10 and Chevron posts one of its highest quarterly profits, the Washington Post reports. Prices rise while protections shrink. Your family pays more. Their donors do fine.
You do not have to be a Democrat. Just stop rewarding cuts that raise your costs. Fire the cutters in the 2026 midterms. Vote like constitutional repair depends on it.
